Russia will not hesitate to attack Western countries: Putin

 

The situation in the Ukraine war is becoming more complicated as time goes by. Although the war is mainly between Ukraine and Russia, various countries are indirectly involved in it. In such a situation, Russian President Vladimir Putin sees the characteristics of a 'global' war in the Ukraine war. He has warned that he will not hesitate to attack Western countries if necessary.

Ukraine attacked Russian territory last Tuesday and Wednesday using long-range missiles provided by the West. In response, Russia attacked the Dnipro region of Ukraine on Thursday with a new type of missile. Initially, it was thought to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), but Moscow later said that it was a new generation hypersonic missile. Putin said that this missile can also carry nuclear weapons like ICBMs.

Russian President Putin had previously warned that allowing an attack on Russian territory would not have good consequences. After the United States chose to further escalate tensions by ignoring his words, he said he would not rule out the possibility of a direct attack on the West.

Ukraine has been kept afloat by its Western allies in the 33-month-long war with massive military aid. Putin said Russian air defenses had destroyed missiles from the United States and the United Kingdom before they could hit. He said yesterday that the enemy had failed to achieve what they had set out to do. And Moscow could also consider striking military installations in countries that have allowed their weapons to be used to attack Russia.

According to Putin, the missile launched on Thursday was called the Oreshnik. It is a medium-range hypersonic ballistic missile. However, the United States and the Western military alliance NATO say it was a medium-range ballistic missile. It can hit targets up to 5,500 kilometers away.
